Heartwell Co-op is based on an acre of land in South Devon, where we have pitches available for caravan and van dwellers. Since acquiring the site, co-op members have gradually transformed our little patch into a welcoming home for humans and all kinds of plants and wildlife, through thoughtful caretaking of the land, application of permaculture principles, and creating space for a diverse flora to emerge and thrive.
Usually housing between 6-8 adults, we are committed to living together with kindness, care and responsibility. We explore and share skills for alternative ways of living, and are always learning more about what it means to live together. Within our collective we are working to carve out better land access for Travellers and low impact dwellers, incubating land-based, low impact co-ops of the future, offering land based childhood education, growing food, facilitating transformation, practicing and teaching traditional earth based crafts, primitive skills, and taking care with herbal medicine.
We offer this space as a base to create positive change in the world and support Activists, Nomads, Pilgrims, Seekers, Wanderers, Idealists, Herbalists, Musicians, Artists, Do-ers and Dreamers to find deeper earth and community connection and make projects happen. On site we have water, laundry and washing facilities, electric, internet, a compost loo, shared kitchen & sitting room, camping space, events space and fruit, vegetable and herb gardens.
We occasionally have pitch space coming up for live in vans/caravans and we welcome visitors and volunteers with a genuine interest in what we are creating. Please get in touch if you would like to find out more- firstname.lastname@example.org
